I have used the 24 f/1.4 II prime lens and while it was very sharp (and very resistant to flare and CA) it seemed to backfocus a bit. I've settled on the 35 f/1.4 with the 17-40 for wide angle work, as I just didn't think any of the other lenses performance justified the increased price. The 24-70 is a really nice lens for its versatility though- I find myself missing it sometimes. Thanks for posting this. Interesting results.
